This week’s Mix
was created by the only bride I have ever watched walk down the aisle to high-volume strains of throbbing My Bloody Valentine guitar fuzz. It was like watching a dove fly through a knot of sparring alleycats. If that’s Daniela Province’s Pachelbel’s Canon, wait til you hear her Pop Miracles. From the opening Dandy Warhols track through to Suede, Ultra Vivid Scene, Stereophonics and beyond, this most certainly is not your parents’ 3MPMP Mix.
This week’s Miracler
is by her own admission deeply stuck in early 90's shoegazer music (and in 1.6 hours, you may well be, too). Having honed her taste on the lathe of the college DJ booth, Daniela’s been chasing the buzz of the fuzz ever since. Newly married to fellow Miracler Anthony McGrath, she works by day as a marketing guru and moonlights as a fashion writer, penning a blog for the Innovative Fashion Council.

Yes please indeed! During the tracks beginning with Ultra Vivid Scene and ending with Laika, I was briefly transported back to my black-walled apartment on Dwight Way in Berkeley and to an altered state that was altogether splendid. Thanks for the transportation!
You're more than welcome...hope you liked the special MBV track:)
Thanks for using Indo-European text. I particularly liked the Court & Spark. My old roommate Jeff played w/ them in the actual world but I never noticed the band until the virtual 3mpmp & Pandora. Progress!
I think I remember when he joined- bassist? Too bad they are no more, this track brings me back to good times...
Great mix. It transported me back to Stephen B's apartment in Berkeley, too. Which, admittedly, felt a little weird. I'm not exactly sure what the The Court & Spark track had to do with everything else (and Sam - I'm a fan), but it served as a nice palette cleanser. And the Autumn Sweater remix was a lovely version of a lovely song that (until now) I thought I'd never need to hear again. Thanks for that!
Keep out of my 1988 apartment Doug, or I'm going to call the cops on my massive 1988 mobile telephone.
Still trying to forgive you for using two songs I wanted to use ("Autumn Sweater" being one) but the more I listen, the more I am getting over it ...
This is such an old post that I don't know if anyone will even see this.
But.
I'm sitting here in my office on Friday night, listening to this mix. One of my designers comes in, and starts listening intently to the Film School track. He says, "What is this?" I say, "Film School," and he says, "That's what I thought! I move to California with that guy!"
Small world.
