About this week’s Double-Miracler
You might remember Kevin Seidel as the guy who rose at 4am to win our Evening With Paul Weller Sweepstakes back in ‘08. Or perhaps like me, you're still pressing the rewind/play on his addictive Cali-themed Bonus Mix of last fall, Songs in the Key of PCH. Mr. Seidel clearly knows his way around a compilation. A musician himself as well as brilliant ad writer/sometime triathlete/daily surfer/adoring husband/doting dad in addition to chainsaw-swinging ice cream vendor, the last thing Kevin needs is another title, but I’m gonna give him one anyway: Generous Miracler. Fabulous one-two punch, Sir.
So, what’s a Double-Miracle?
It’s when you get the first Miracle (Downside, the perfect pop bummer mix to ring in a cloudy June Monday morning) on Monday and the second (Upside, the perfect pop mix for a sunny Friday) today. Remember to check out the first mix for full pay-off. Today's mix is here.
Go git it! Til Friday, XOK

Okay, this is weird, but I feel exactly about about Upside as I did Downside— you really know how to kick off a mix, man. I have gotten past Track One and on to the others (a lot of fun ones once again) but keep coming back to it all the same. Really liking this mix. Thanks for treating our (quiet) group to such tasty morsels.
It's about time Doves got some love! Much to like on the Upside, especially Yo La Tengo, the Super Furries and Libertines. I always liked Honey White about the best of any Morphine song too. Great mixology here Kevin!
Thank you N/B household!
Great stuff, although I wonder how an Eels song ended up on a mix titled "Upside"? Ditto Mr. Bramfitt's feelings about Doves, YLT and SFA. Always nice to hear The New Pornographers (TNP?) and Supergrass.
New to me - The Dodos (although I think I've seen them on marquees around town) and Brendan Benson (reminded me - a lot - of Sloan). Thanks, Kevin!
Well thank you Kevin. I'm new to 3MPMP and now terrified by the standard you've set. Like meeting the seniors that freshman summer at band camp (man they could drink). Lovely to be reminded of that Brendan Benson album.
