From your Hostess
After a half-year spent wandering the Pop Miracle desert, we are BACK. Welcome.

Coupla changes
1. New frequency: starting with today's mix, we'll be putting up a new mix every two weeks, rather than weekly. Better to have more time to enjoy each mix. But we'll still throw surprises at you—bonus mixes and sweepstakes and the like—to keep it spicy.
2. Different address.
3. Same password as before—at least for now. Check today's 3MPM email or our members-only Facebook page if you need your memory jogged.
4. Wondering how we'll reconcile our calendar? Me too. It's yet to be sorted, though we've got the next couple of mixes covered, so we're good for now.

Today's Miracler
is Vanessa Belli, she of this 2008 miracle mix as well as this get-out-the-vote mix that some might say got us our funky president. Our recent Miracle Dustbowl period left poor Vanessa's idle hands with nothing to do but make these lovely-fun lady hats for fun and profit. So perhaps the time off wasn't all bad. And now we've got this fab mix that's waited patiently since January to hatch into your ears now.

See you back here in two weeks!

Let me be the first to say "Whoot whoot..." Loosely translated, that's a shout out for an anticipated fine mix - and the return!! Well done Kelly.

Is it any wonder the sun is out and the sky is blue in San Franfogsco? Miracles do happen!
Look forward to your mix, Vanessa.

Fantastic mix and a fine welcome-back. Somewhat banal but my first listen was on the morning commute and it was SO perfect for summer sunrise and rich flat light on a rainy-season morning between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. SO lovely. Great picks and beautiful sequencing. Thank you.

Also "Whoot Whoot"

Trippy melancholy, summoning shades from my past with every track; regrets and mistakes from 25 years ago coming to a surprising head when Chicago blasts me right back to a countertop at Demon Dogs moping with my basket of cheese fries. Made for an interesting commute. Much enjoyment! Thanks.

Whoot whoot, yes. And, special thanks for the excellent Denver cover.

Huzzah, Vanessa! (I'm not a "whoot whoot" kind of guy.) Nice to have you - and the project - back. Really liked the mix, and, as mentioned above, the sequencing. But let's talk about Viking Moses - should grown men really be allowed to be this sensitive? I think not. It sets a bad example for our young people.

Vanessa, your mix arrived just in time to save me from the August doldrums. Will be perfect for a weekend up on the coast, too.

I am loving it, Vanessa. Highlights for me are definitely Eels, Califone and Juan Molina (who I saw at the Great American awhile back).

Yeah!!!

Sorry for the delay here, Vanessa, I took a while to listen to this and have concluded that I love it every bit as much as your first genius mix way back when. Thanks for all!

hey doug - sorry to offend your macho self, but don't let it affect your opinion of vanessa. Viking Moses was actually my little contribution to her mix. would be happy to discuss over sausages at schmitd's (or maybe somewhere else that has better sausages) -DA
