About this week’s Miracler
I don’t personally know Gerald Lewis — he’s a friend of Miracler Greg Mills — but I don’t like him. He’s doing that thing we all say we’re going to do: work a day job and then go home and make something beautiful that’s just for us. But he’s actually doing it. And it’s not like he’s a slouch at his day job, as an advertising creative director who’s managed to create fun stuff with huge brands (see his work here). But then after he clocks out, he goes and makes fine art. Jerk. Right now he’s finishing a body of paintings/screen prints for a show in the late spring entitled “Among the Vinyl Siding.” Let’s all boycott it, k?
New topic: Trains, planes, and automobiles (and elevators)
I’ve been noticing of late a rather cruel vid-doc epidemic that’s sweeping the indie rock world. Seems the thing to do when an artist comes to town is to squash them into a shoebox and make them perform a song for us. Like, when they’re in London, it’s in a tiny taxicab and in Paris they’re forced to walk the streets minstrel-style like indie-zombies. And then, when in Amsterdam, they throw you in an elevator! Perhaps I should lure these bands over to my place, where we recently discovered an abandoned outhouse in the backyard.

I don't actually know a Gerald Lewis.
How about a Lewis Gerald?
I know him. In fact, I've stolen several of his ideas. I can't wait to hear the mix, and then take credit for it.
Nice poppy mix. I thought El Michels was genuine late-'60s groovyness til I looked it up. I used to listen to that Built to Spill album all the time but haven't heard it in years. Also particularly liked the Fat Freddy, Frank Black, & Noah & the Whale. Thanks, Lewis Gerald Lewis!
Super-fun mix! Especially enjoying the opening track, the T-Rexy Supergrass, Cold War Kids, and Noah and the Whale, whom I'd never heard of. That's what the Prodge is all about. Awwww yeahhhhh, K
A seamless mix, Gerald. Now that I've had a chance to listen to it a few times, I will indeed be taking credit for it.
