3MPMP Creative Challenge No. 1

Here's a rather unusual post for our group. Miracler Amanda Zweerink has a rich life, complete with super-cool day job, sweetheart of a husband, and picturesque dog-and-cat-filled home in Berkeley. But by night, Amanda is Kiss Me Kate, a SF burlesque dancer who turns heads and spins tassels like no body’s business. Amanda’s always concocting new routines to fun/unexpected songs, so is in need of some fresh musical material. Won’t you help?

The Mandatories:
+ A single song or songs, delivered to Kelly via CD or FTP or iDisk by 9/18. Bring it with you to the CD Exchange Social at the Makeout Room on September 18 if you like.
+ Songs should be no longer than 3:30, and no shorter than 2:30.
+ Songs should be good enough quality that they'll sound great in clubs and theaters.

The Nice-To-Haves:
+ Songs that have a clear beginning, middle and end. It makes choreography easier.
+ Songs that tell a simple story, and have a clear POV. Good for choreography, and also costuming.

+ 4 songs I'm presently mulling: I'm Gonna Burn Down the House (And Leave By The Light of the Fire) by Big Smith; Intermission by the Scissor Sisters; Vaporous by Elsiane; If the Washing Don't Get You the Rinsing Will by Albert King.

+ I suck at comedy. There are lots of performers who had very big, vaudevillian stage personas, but sadly I'm not one of them.
